We have all come home from a run or the gym and felt the benefits, both physical and mental. Sweating out the problems of the day, we can feel pleased with ourselves and leave the worries and problems of everyday life behind. Something about it invokes a clarity in our mind and hearts. Pioneers are Motivational

When a pioneer does something, it always makes it easier for others to follow. They motivate the rest of us. After Roger Bannister broke the four-minute mile in 1954, the record was rapidly improved by other runners. Previously, like the sound barrier it was considered impossible to break. Weird Run

I went for an usual run yesterday which garnered some stares. 3 miles (5km) and it was indoors and entirely carpeted. Changi airport in Singapore has won some awards for it's user friendly facilities. It also makes a great indoor running venue. The 5k was out and back and there was plenty of the airport left to explore. I had a few hours spare and kept my luggage in storage and used the showers (about $US7). It beats sitting around waiting! Encouragement

You get a lot of encouragement when you run. From the crowd, other runners and even volunteers. It definitely shortens the distance.

 I received a nice article via blogger Carrie McCarthy http://shesgotpotential.me/2012/08/08/transcending-the-olympics/.

Read it while I was lying around recovering in New York. It maybe vain but it's nice reading about yourself when you are not used to it.
