Sarvagata turns into a super athlete during this race. His skin goes really tanned, He comes in a little overweight and on occasions with his busy work schedule saving for the race, slightly under trained. Then he begins to shed kilograms, sometimes up to fourteen in total, and then he starts churning out the miles. Sarvagata UkrainskyI is set to finish around 1pm during day 44 and beat his best time ever. He is an incredible ultra distance runner. A natural,...

Half Way is Coming Home

All the runners who are going to make it are well past the half way point. "It is like coming home." Former Serbian Champ Ayojan Stojanovic once said to me, or as multiple winner Asprihanal Aalto calls it "reaching the turnaround point." Downhill is another analogy. Making halfway certainly helps mentally in any race. From 5k all the way up to 5000k.

Running Brings Peace

Posted by grahak on Friday, July 18, 2014,
Running is an individual sport that brings people together. There are not many sports where you can compete on the same course as the world’s best. For a runner it ultimately adds to your performance levels. But...it is not always smooth sailing at extreme endurance events and there are pluses and minuses. Asphrihanal Aalto, one of the world's best multi-day runners never has a handler. Sarvagata Ukrainsky an equally talented runner, often has 2-3 helpers attend the 3100 mile race. So what...

Meet Pranjal

Posted by grahak on Tuesday, July 8, 2014,

Pranjal Milovnik is a giant of a man standing at 195cm and weighing in close to 100kg. He is competing in his tenth 3100 mile race. On day 20 he ran 72.44 miles. Perhaps (apart from day one), the most he has ever run at the 3100. I feel Pranjal will break the world record for the most completions of the race. He loves it. The struggle. Bad weather. Exhaustion. He laps it up and keeps marching along. Below are some interesting facts about Pranjal.

  • His best time is 47 days averaging 105.7km a da...
